Meg Alexander is the co-host of Fox25's new lifestyle show "Living Oklahoma." She made the switch after more than 2 decades on the news anchor desk. She is a National and Regional News Emmy Award winner along with numerous other awards for reporting, anchoring and philanthropic endeavors in our great state of Oklahoma. Meg holds a Master's Degree in Journalism from Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois and a B.A. in Political Science from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a top rated anchor at OKC's NBC affiliate KFOR for 18 years. Prior to that she was the evening anchor for ABC in Salisbury, Maryland.
Meg hails from Michigan, but met her now husband when she came to Oklahoma City to anchor in 1997. She and her husband started the Oklahoma foundation PlaySmart - which helps at-risk children realize their potential through sports and academics. She was selected as Oklahoma's Young Mother of the Year in 2015 and currently sits on the national board for American Mothers. She is also a long time member of the Junior League of OKC, a Kappa Alpha Theta Alum group member, a soccer coach at NOKC and very involved in her children's school.
Meg also has a storied past in musical theatre and sports.
Her 1st professional theater role was playing a boy in the title role of "OLIVER" in the musical when she was 9. She went on to do both civic and professional theater and plays the saxophone and piano. Meg was also a competitive figure skater, soccer player, tennis player and even played on the ice hockey team in college. She and her husband live in Oklahoma City and have three children, Evan, Izzy and Alexandra. Meg's husband is a born and bred Oklahoman and she's proud to raise her children here as well.
