Good Day OK anchor Chris Stanford is a dad, husband, and journalist. If you ask him, he’s just a regular guy who feels blessed to report important (and sometimes fun) stories.
“People deserve to have reporters in their community who are willing and able to go to bat for them,” Chris says. “To me, that means digging deep, asking tough questions, and holding the powerful accountable.”
Before starting at FOX 25 in January 2017, Chris reported and anchored at stations in Minneapolis, Wichita, and St. Louis. He’s an award-winning journalist who’s covered significant news stories such as the unrest in Ferguson, MO, a mass workplace shooting in Hesston, KS, the killings of police officers in Dallas, TX, and the Oklahoma teacher walkout.
Chris is involved with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity.
His investigations have uncovered problems with OKCPS buses, sex offender websites, security at regional airports, and lengthy hold times at Kansas’ largest 911 call center.
When he’s not at work, Chris and his wife are raising their two girls. He appreciates a rewarding DIY project and any chance to relax on the golf course.
