Caroline Vandergriff joined the FOX 25 News team in September 2017 as a reporter. She's a Texas native who's excited to explore all the Sooner State has to offer!
Before coming to Oklahoma City, Caroline reported and anchored in Charlotte for Spectrum News, North Carolina's 24-hour news channel. Caroline played a major role in the station's coverage of many high-profile stories, including the fall out from North Carolina's controversial "bathroom bill" and the mistrial of a Charlotte police officer charged with manslaughter for killing an unarmed man. Her work aired frequently throughout the state and on the Spectrum networks in New York City, New York state, Texas and Florida.
Caroline marched for miles with protesters and delivered live reports through tear gas during the riots after the Keith Scott shooting. She traveled to South Carolina to cover the Charleston church massacre, the historic removal of the Confederate flag from the grounds of the state capitol, and the campaign stops of all the major 2016 presidential contenders. Reporting on the excitement surrounding the Carolina Panthers' Super Bowl journey was a highlight of her time there as well.
Prior to reporting in Charlotte, Caroline worked for NBC affiliate WILX in Lansing, Michigan. She covered state politics, frequently anchored the morning newscast, and launched a new segment to address community issues. She received a Broadcast Excellence Award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for one of her investigative feature stories.
Caroline fell in love with journalism in college. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, where she double majored in Broadcast & Digital Journalism and Political Science. As an anchor and reporter for USC's award-winning nightly newscast, Caroline worked alongside some of LA's most seasoned journalists.
Connecting with the community has always been a priority. In Charlotte, Caroline volunteered as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters, graduated from the FBI Citizens Academy, and raised thousands of dollars for survivors of traumatic brain injuries and people with disabilities. She can't wait to get involved with some of the many amazing non-profits in OKC!
Caroline also loves to spend time with family and friends, cheer on the Texas Rangers and the USC Trojans, curl up with a good book, and get active outdoors with her dogs, Moxie and Mika.
