Peru: Mudslide kills at least 15
At least 15 people have been killed and 29 injured in a mudslide triggered by heavy rain in the Peruvian town of Tamburco, Abancay province on Sunday morning, according to Peru's National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI)
An overnight barrage of intense rain caused a wall to collapse and a hotel roof to cave in. Video from INDECI shows firefighters and police working on the collapsed roof to remove debris and rescue those injured. "Rescue operations are ongoing", says Peru's National Emergency Operations Center, citing INDECI.
