KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. (KOMO) - It's a day Washington State Patrol troopers will be talking about with their colleagues for quite some time, busting several exotic cars for speeding along I-90 as they made their way to a car show in Spokane Wednesday afternoon.

Perhaps the most egregious case of flaunting the law came from the driver of a neon green Lamborghini who was busted not once, but twice by troopers across two counties.

The Washington State Patrol says it pulled over a neon green Lamborghini going 102 mph on I-90 in Kittitas County. He was cited for reckless driving, but apparently, the driver didn’t learn a lesson because he was nabbed again by troopers going 99 mph in Grant County. Once was a fine, but the second was enough for troopers - they had his Lamborghini impounded this time.

Another exotic car was clocked going 112 mph, according to Trooper Brian Moore.

In all, more than 10 cars were caught speeding near 100 mph, Moore said. Most of the drivers admitted they were on their way to the Gold Rush Rally in Spokane on Wednesday, although some claim the driver of the neon green Lamborghini was not directly involved in the rally.

Apparently word got out among the drivers to take it easy on the gas.

"So far they must have learned their lesson - no reports of problems in our area," tweeted Trooper J. Sevigney, whose district patrols the roads around Spokane.
