Scouts Honor! Deputies locate stolen Boy Scouts trailer, some items still inside

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) - Thanks to tips from the community the Lexington County Sheriff's Department in South Carolina say they have located the missing trailer that was stolen from a local Boy Scout troop.

Over the weekend, a trailer belonging to Troop 60 of the Boy Scouts of American was stolen.

On Wednesday morning, deputies say they found the trailer abandoned off Liberty Hill Road however it was painted over in an attempt to disguise it.

Deputies are currently working to determine what has been taken however some items are still inside. Items that were originally inside of the trailer included camping gear, cookware, and tents among other items.

On Tuesday night, the Louisiana Cajun Navy stepped in and donated their trailer along with some other items to the troop.

The Cajun Navy typically assists with disaster recovery and relief and were in South Carolina assisting those affected by Hurricane Florence and Tropical Storm Michael.
