Oklahoma Girl Gets Free Trip to Disney World

Through a partnership, that launched April 3, 2017, Traditional Bakery, Inc. /Oklahoma City Bakery, Inc. franchise (TBI/OKC), Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Southwest Missouri, Northwest and Central Arkansas, and Oklahoma have given guests the opportunity to round up their purchase total to the nearest dollar. Proceeds from rounded-up transactions have been donated to Baking Memories 4 Kids.

Baking Memories 4 Kids, established in 2012 by cancer survivor Frank Squeo, is a non-profit foundation that provides children with life threatening or terminal illnesses and their families an all-expense paid vacation to all the theme parks in Orlando, Florida. For one week, these courageous families will be able to focus on the joys of life and put aside the daily struggles of having a loved one with a serious illness.

At 2 years old, Callie Martin had her first seizure and thus began the journey to find out why. After multiple hospitals and multiple diagnoses, it was determined that Callie suffers from Lennox–Gastaut syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy that is resistant to most treatments. Now 9, the seizures have left Callie with a significant amount of memory loss causing her to forget a large part of her childhood. Her parents know that she will never get them back but hopes that they can help her create new ones.

Thanks to the selflessness of the Oklahoma City community and Panera Bread, BM4K’s founder, Frank Squeo is hoping to do just that. On Thursday, November 2nd, the team at the Westgate Panera Bread Cafe will join Frank in surprising Callie and her brother with a trip of a lifetime. We welcome the community to come and join in the surprise celebration and witness what their generous efforts have created.
