Indie Trunk Show

Oklahoma City is in love with itself. Its citizens want an endless supply of Oklahoma hats, shirts, and prints. They also want to purchase goods and services from Oklahoma-owned businesses. So, creative entrepreneurs in this city are jumping on the opportunity. The Indie Trunk Show,, provides an opportunity for shoppers to buy goods from these businesses all in one place. Karen Jobe and Stacy Jobe Lea began Indie Trunk Show in 2014 with 86 local vendors. Now it's grown to more than 200 Oklahoma vendors and 2,000 in average attendance, the largest and only one of its kind in the state. Indie Trunk Show hosts two shows a year. The next one is December 9th, 2017 in The Pavilion building at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds.

For every dollar that a shopper spends at a chain store, only around 43% stays in Oklahoma. When that dollar is spent at an independently owned Oklahoma business, around 73% stays in the state. Shopping local is one of the keys to growing our state's economy.

Tickets for the December 9th show are $6. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in The Pavilion building at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. At each show, Indie Trunk Show collects items for the Homeless Alliance. For the December 9th show people are encouraged to donate winter hats and gloves.
