Widespread, heavy rain to bring threat of flash flooding Friday to Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Widespread, heavy rain is expected to hit Oklahoma Friday and into Saturday bringing the risk of dangerous flooding.
A cold-front hits northwest Oklahoma Thursday evening bringing the chances of rain. Rain will begin hitting the state Friday morning and will continue for most of the day Friday.
Heavy rain is likely, with some areas likely to pick up three to five inches of rain and locally six inches or more.
Dangerous flooding is likely Friday and Friday night. A Flood Watch has already been issued by the National Weather Service for portions of central and southern Oklahoma. It runs from 7 a.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Rain chances continue into Saturday, with scattered storms around throughout the day. Sunday brings lower rain chances.
