An Oklahoma City resident used a microphone on his surveillance cameras to scare away a burglar.

The Oklahoma City Police Department has released video of a Sept. 29 burglary. A man can be seen just after 4 a.m. inside a vehicle in the 3000 block of SW 139 Street.

The victim told police that he was asleep and received a notification from the surveillance camera's app alerting him to movement outside his home. The man checked the video and observed the man in his vehicle.

The man then used the microphone on the camera to ask the man "What are you doing" and warning him to leave. The burglar then ran from the scene empty handed, but not before losing a shoe. He fled the scene in a two-door Jeep.

The homeowner told police he was using Ring surveillance equipment. Anyone with information on the man is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300.
