Two men arrested, accused of stealing running vehicle with young girl inside
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Two men were arrested after stealing a running vehicle with a young child inside.
Police reports show that at approximately 9:30 p.m. Jan. 11 officers were notified that a vehicle with an 7-year-old girl in the back seat had been stolen from a home in the 1000 block of SW 42 Street.
The girl's father told police that he had come to a home in the area to pick up his sons. He left the girl in the vehicle in the vehicle running to keep it warm while he went inside the house to pick up the boys.
While talking to a woman inside, the man observed his vehicle leaving the home and traveling westbound. The man then took keys from the home and got into a different vehicle and pursued the stolen car.
A short time later police found the vehicle in the 1100 block of SW 41st. Police found the young girl safe inside. Two men were arrested on scene: 33-year-old Matthew Crockett and 36-year-old Eddie Sauceda Jr.
Both men face complaints of child endangerment, kidnapping and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
