One dies following crash in Kingfisher County
HENNESSEY, Okla. (KOKH) —
One person died Thursday in a crash west of Hennessey involving a semi.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports at approximately 6:40 a.m. Nov. 8 a pickup driven by 28-year-old Jake Simpson, of Kingfisher, was traveling westbound on SH-51 one mile west of the SH-132 junction. Two semis were stopped in the roadway waiting for a vehicle to turn north on N2780 when Simpson failed to slow for the stopped traffic. He attempted to avoid the crash and struck the rear of one of the semis. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The crash closed the roadway for a period of time.
