Three candidates file for Oklahoma City mayoral race

Three candidates have filed to run to be the next mayor of Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City spokesperson Kristy Yager reports that David Holt, Randall Smith and Taylor M. Neighbors have all filed for mayor.

The three will square off in a primary election Feb. 13. If one of the candidates earns a majority of the votes, they will be sworn in to a four-year term in April. If not, the two candidates with the most votes will stand in a general election on April 3.

Current Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett is not seeking re-election after announcing a run for governor. He has served four terms and first took office in 2004.

The last day to register to vote for the primary election is Jan. 19. Click here to find a voter registration application.
