OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — A 6-year-old boy died on Wednesday after he fell into the water at Lake Stanley Draper.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department reports that just after 2 p.m., Nov. 7, rescue divers were called after a 6-year-old boy fell off a dock and into Lake Stanley Draper near SE 104 Street and W. Stanley Draper Drive.
Firefighters say that the boy's mother went into the water after him but was unable to get the boy out. The dive team arrived on scene and was able to rescue the boy just before 3 p.m.
The child was transported in critical condition to OU Children's Hospital.
An Oklahoma City police public information officer confirmed to FOX 25 the boy had been pronounced dead just before 9 p.m.
