Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Government Shutdown
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KOKH) With the federal government shutdown, many federal employees will need to make tough choices, like paying for food or housing and utilities. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma (RFBO) is gearing up for an influx of Oklahomans needing food. Currently, RFBO provides enough food to feed more than 136,000 Oklahomans, however, it is not enough. That’s why SNAP and government assistance programs are so important and the shutdown could also have a detrimental impact on other federal nutrition programs.
If you are in need of food on your family's table, RFBO wants to help. You can get assistance by visiting regionalfoodbank.org or call 405-972-1111.
