Pott. County: Suspects ID'd in theft of trailer full of animals

A manhunt continues in Pottawatomie County as deputies search for one man who stole a trailer full of farm animals.

Police are still searching for 27-year-old Cody Porter. He, along with Michael Demaro, are believed to have stolen a truck with a trailer hitch to the back carrying animals stolen from Langston University.

The manhunt began yesterday afternoon near Westech and Highway 177. The Shawnee News Star reports a friend of the truck owner spotted it and approached the two men with a gun. That's when they ran off prompting the search.

Three horses and 20 head of sheep were found in the trailer.

Demaro has reportedly been captured. Deputies say if you see Porter, do not approach him. He has a history of displaying violent behavior.
