Police: Man shot multiple times, robbed after attempting to purchase phone through app

Police say that two men were arrested after robbing and shooting a man who was attempting to purchase a cell phone through an app.

The Oklahoma City Police Department reports that just before 9:30 p.m. Nov. 4 officers were called to an armed robbery in the 3700 block of SW 26 Street.

On scene, police found a man lying in a driveway and suffering from several gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital and officers spoke with the man's wife.

The woman stated that her husband had contacted an individual on the "LetGo" app and was looking to purchase a cell phone. The two agreed to meet and the man drove to the meeting place around 3 p.m. Nov. 4. The seller did not answer the door a the meeting place and the man and his wife drove back to their home.

Shortly after arriving home, a knock was heard at the door. The woman said her husband went outside and a short time later she heard several gunshots.

The man told his wife that his wallet with $1,000 in cash had been stolen. The woman was able to see the suspect as he ran to a nearby vehicle and left the area.

Police were able to track down the vehicle and arrested two men: 20-year-old Jerry Mathis and 22-year-old Delon Willis. Both men face complaints of robbery with a dangerous weapon. The victim's condition has not been released at this time.
