Okmulgee County parents arrested after baby taken to hospital with broken bones
OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) —
The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office says two people are in custody in connection with a child abuse investigation.
Investigators say Marcus Hetherington confessed to injuring his 1-year-old child in December 2017. The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office learned of the incident when the baby was admitted to an Oklahoma City hospital with multiple broken bones.
The child's mother, Barbara Hetherington, was arrested during the investigation on an unrelated felony warrant, according to the sheriff's office.
Authorities say Marcus Hetherington was charged with one count of child abuse by injury and one count of child neglect. He's being held on $200,000 bond.
