OSBI: Man drowns 2-year-old daughter, tries to drown police officer

KREBS, Okla. (KTUL) – A Pittsburg County man was arrested early Friday after authorities say he drowned his 2-year-old daughter in a pond and tried to drown a police officer as well.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Krebs police responded to Choctaw Park early Friday morning after learning Devin Sizemore and his 2-year-old daughter were there. Police had been searching for Sizemore since Tuesday when a family member reported his behavior was strange.

According to the OSBI, the officer heard screaming when he arrived at the park. He followed it to the pond where he saw Sizemore's toddler floating in the water.

The officer pulled the girl from the water and performed CPR until she was transported to McAlester Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to the OSBI, Sizemore attacked the officer during his arrest and tried to drown him in the pond. A Pittsburg County deputy who was on scene rushed to help.

Sizemore was arrested and booked into the Pittsburg County Jail for first-degree murder.
