A metro band teacher found himself in custody after being accused of attempting to meet underage girls for sex.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reports that Jason Ott, 31, was arrested March 8. An investigation into Ott began earlier in the week after OSBI was contacted by an undercover out-of-state agent stating they had discovered a man in Oklahoma wanting to meet up for sex with a 14-year-old girl.

An undercover agent with the OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children task force posing as a 13-year-old girl then began talking with the man, later determined to be Ott. Ott reportedly agreed to meet the girls at Quail Springs Mall around noon Thursday for sex. When he arrived, he was taken into custody by agents.

Ott works as the assistant band teacher to 6th through 12th grade students at Carl Albert High School. He faces complaints of lewd or indecent proposals to a minor under 16, two counts of solicitation of a minor by technology and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

Carl Albert High School Principal Kristin Goggans says that Ott was immediately placed on suspension when they learned of his arrest. She says the school is assisting authorities with the investigation.

"At the time of Ott’s hiring in August of 2017, all state background requirements were completed. The safety and security of our students is always our first priority. " Goggans said in a statement.
