The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting in far southeast Oklahoma that left one person dead.

OSBI says agents were requested by the McCurtain County District Attorney's Office Wednesday afternoon to investigate the shooting in Millerton.

A McCurtain County Sheriff's deputy and a Valliant police officer responded to a calls of a domestic altercation in the 300 block of Chichasaw Rd.

When officers arrived, they encountered 37-year-old Daniel Francisco Valenzuela. Officials say Valenzuela was armed with a knife and ignored commands to drop the weapon. Officers report Valenzuela then threatened police with the knife and advanced toward them.

One of the officers shot Valenzuela, who was transported to the hospital where he died.

OSBI officials say the investigation into the shooting is on-going.
