A man shot and killed by deputies following a pursuit that ended Monday near Okarche has been identified.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirms that Alexander Lindahl, 24, was killed following a pursuit Oct. 8 that ended near Okarche.

Early Monday, authorities began pursuing a man who had stolen a work truck from Braum's Dairy Farm in Tuttle. The pursuit took authorities to US 81 before traveling north of Okarche where the suspect crashed while attempting to pass vehicles in the grass median while traveling approximately 100 MPH.

A Canadian County deputy then fired several rounds into the tires of the truck before the suspect exited the vehicle and brandished a firearm. Canadian County Sheriff Chris West says that five of his deputies fired rounds, striking the suspect. The man was pronounced dead on scene.

The OSBI is investigating the case. The five deputies will remain on paid administrative leave until the investigation is completed.
