OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Oklahoma teacher wanted for allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to a student.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that an arrest warrant was issued Sept. 20 for former Yale High School teacher 27-year-old Joseph Kolt Palmer.
Palmer was hired asa math teacher and coach at Yale Public Schools in August 2015. He left the school district at the end of the school year.
In May 2016, the Yale Police Department requested an investigation into an allegation that Palmer was having a relationship with a 17-year-old female student.
An investigation revealed that Palmer and the 17-year-old exchanged text messages that described sexual acts.
Palmer has been charged with engaging in sexual communication with a minor by use of technology.
