One man is dead and two others were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning.

It was part of several crimes that happened overnight across Oklahoma City.

At 4:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of S. Grand Blvd. at the Oak Grove Apartments a tenant noticed a vehicle in the middle of the parking lot. The tenant investigated and discovered three people in the vehicle who had been shot. 911 was called and when officers arrived they found a man was dead and two people, a man and a woman, were injured. The wounded were transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

About 8:00 a.m. in the area of Interstate 40 and Portland Ave. police were notified of an assault on a cab driver. Initial reports were that a man and a woman assaulted the driver. Officers developed information that led them to believe the two people suspected in the assault were involved in the shooting on S. Grand Blvd.

Bobby Dean Whorton was detained and arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting after the taxi driver reported that Whorton and another female assaulted the driver.

Oklahoma City Police says the taxi driver told them that both suspects talked about their involvement in the apartment shooting.

Officers are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.

The female has been taken into custody but her identity has not been released.
