The Garvin County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting at the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in southern Oklahoma. Park owner Joe Maldonado, better known as Joe Exotic, says his husband accidentally shot and killed himself.

Deputies were called to the park around 12:40 p.m. Friday afternoon after a gun went off. The Garvin County Sheriff's Office would not confirm the shooting was accidental, only saying they are continuing to investigate the incident. No arrests have been made in the case.

Joe Exotic posted about Travis Maldonado's death on Facebook, writing "Joe may not get through this one... give him space." He plans to hold a news conference at 11 a.m. Saturday morning to discuss his husband's death.

Joe Exotic is running for governor.
