Oklahoma State Representative resigns from his seat
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
An Oklahoma State Representative has resigned from his seat.
Governor Mary Fallin's Office confirms to FOX 25 that State Rep. Scott Biggs has resigned. Biggs represents District 51 which includes portions of Grady, McClain and Stephens counties. Sources tell FOX 25's Phil Cross that Biggs is taking a position in the federal government. The move comes as legislators work to fill a $215 million hole in the state budget.
Recently, Biggs has been an opponent of criminal justice reform in Oklahoma. A special election will be set by the governor to fill his seat.
