Oklahoma House Speaker may consider banning education funds for personal promotion

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Oklahoma House Speaker Charles McCall said on Monday the House could pursue legislation that bans education dollars from being spent for personal promotion.

The statement comes after a Fox 25 investigative reportdug into taxpayer dollars being used to promote State Superintendent Ryan Walters on a national level.

In a press conference Monday morning Speaker McCall said, "I'm very surprised to hear that monies would be used for that anywhere in state government."
