Oklahoma Forestry Services: New fire reported in Jackson County

The Oklahoma Forestry Services are reporting a fire in Jackson County. The fire is being called the Martha Fire and an evacuation for the west side of Martha, Okla. has been ordered. A shelter has been opened at the Martha Road Baptist Church 20388 E. County Road 158 in Altus by the American Red Cross.

An OFS Suppression Group has been dispatched to the fire, it includes 8 Type 6 fire engines and 4 bulldozers.

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is also reporting "Fire departments from Olustee, Martha, Blair, Warren, Altus, Friendship and Mangum working this fire. Kiowa County is providing equipment and personnel through mutual aid. Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol are also responding."
