Oklahoma City Zoo announces name for newborn gorilla
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
One of the newest addditions at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens now has a name!
The zoo says that Western lowland gorilla Finyezi, or Fin for short, was born June 19 to mother Ndjole and father Togo. Finyezi means "firefly" in the Zulu language of Southern Africa. He is currently being hand-reared by a team at the zoo's Great EscApe habitat after Ndjole showed no signs of interest in caring for him.
His birth is the 27th at the zoo since 1974.
