Oklahoma City (KOKH) — The Oklahoma City Council will meet Tuesday, and consider a resolution that would help small businesses and local airports struggling during the pandemic.
One resolution would provide a grant for small businesses under the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority. Another would help with the preparedness and response of the virus for airports in Oklahoma County.
Community Development Block Grants would reallocate $400,000 for the creation of a Micro-Enterprise Grant Program to assist with small businesses with up to five employees.
The grant would provide up to $10,000 for each applicant for payroll expenses and payment of utilities and other items.
The other resolution would help three airports in Oklahoma County.
Clarence E. Page Municipal would get nearly $30,000. Wiley Post Airport would receive $157,000.
Will Rogers World Airport would get $21 million.
The resolution says airports must continue to employ up to 90 employees from March 27th to December 31.
