OKCPS information systems impacted by "denial of service"
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Oklahoma City Public School officials say they were impacted by a "denial of service" attack on Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus is one of the largest student information systems and houses the OKCPS's parent portal. Officials say the attacks began on September 7.
OKCPS wants it to be clear, this was not a data breach and no student data has been stolen or breached.
OKCPS released this statement regarding the attacks:
OKCPS Families/Staff: Access to your student’s parent portal may be limited or inaccessible due to the "denial of service" attack on our provider, Infinite Campus. Please note that NO student data was stolen/breached. This attack just causes the service to be very slow or unresponsive. Many districts across the country are impacted & authorities are investigating. We’ll provide updates ASAP. Thanks for your patience!
Officials say Homeland Security is now involved.
