OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Oklahoma City police are looking for a homicide suspect after a fatal shooting Wednesday evening.
Police say officers responded just before 6 p.m. May 18 to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 5900 block of S. Lee.
Arriving officers found one victim, identified as 27-year-old Jerome Garrett, lying in the parking lot, critically wounded. Garrett was transported to OU Medical Center where he died of his injuries.
Right now, investigators are saying they believe Garrett was sitting outside when the suspect simply walked up and shot him, then fled the scene. No arrests have been made in the case and police have not released a suspect description.
Garrett's death is considered the 24th homicide of 2017 in Oklahoma City.
