OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Bomb squad techs are on-scene in northwest Oklahoma City looking into what appears to be a pipe bomb left on the side of the road.
Police responded to the scene near NW 26th and Western following reports of the device.
They say the bomb squad was trying to contain it with their robot when it rolled into the street and detonated itself. No one was injured.
Police say the device was taken home by a worker from a construction site in a lunchbox. That worker reportedly called police after taking the lunchbox to a nearby dumpster.
