OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Oklahoma City police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one suspect dead.
Police say officers responded to the OnCue near Reno Ave. and MacArthur Blvd. According to police reports, officers arrived around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 and confronted a man who was attempting to cut hoses at the gas station and acting like he was going to cut his own throat.
Witnesses later told investigators the suspect had a knife and screwdriver and was chasing customers in the parking lot.
OKCPD says officers gave the suspect verbal commands to drop the weapons but he didn't comply. He was shot with both a bean-bag shotgun and a taser, but continued to act aggressively toward the officers.
Police say the suspect eventually charged at the officers, and Sergeant Donald Kroger fired his weapon, hitting the suspect. That suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
None of the officers involved were injured.
Kroger, a nine-and-a-half year veteran of the department, has been placed on paid administrative leave.
That suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Jacob Mohow.
