Officials identify man killed in shooting in southwest Oklahoma City

A man shot and killed Tuesday in southwest Oklahoma City has been identified by officials.

The Oklahoma City Police Department confirms that 19-year-old Emilio Lopez was killed just after 1 p.m. July 10 at a home near 2408 S. St. Clair.

An investigation found that a 17-year-old was handling a firearm when it discharged and hit Lopez. The teenager was later arrested on a complaint of second degree murder. The teen has not been identified due to his age.

The man's death is considered the 42nd homicide of 2018 in Oklahoma City.
