A man hit by a train early Tuesday in Edmond has been identified.

The Edmond Police Department confirms that 30-year-old Justin Loucas was walking southbound on the railroad tracks just after 4 a.m. Aug. 14 near Clegern and Bigbee when he was struck by a train.

The train conductor told police they signaled their horn and engaged their emergency braking system but Loucas did not move from the tracks. Loucas was thrown approximately 50-feet after being struck. He was conscious when transported to OU Medical Center with a head and leg wound.

Police believe Loucas was intoxicated at the time of the incident. The train was stopped for two hours while the crash was investigated.
