Police say one person is in custody following an active shooter situation in Norman.

The Norman Police Department spokesperson Sarah Jensen reports that shortly after 2:30 p.m. Jan. 10 police were called to the situation at Bergey Windpower in the 2200 block of Industrial Boulevard. On scene police found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Jensen says that the incident began as a domestic situation between a husband and wife inside the business. When a co-worker attempted to intervene the husband pulled a weapon and shot the co-worker. Another employee then stepped in and began an altercation with the husband. During the altercation, the husband was shot with his own gun by the employee.

Officials transported the husband and the employee to the hospital with gunshot wounds. The extent of their injuries is not currently known. The suspect's spouse was not injured.

Police have a perimeter set up around the building as they investigate the shooting. While investigating the scene, police found a running vehicle in the parking lot. Officers found a suspicious device in the vehicle and halted the investigation. The Hazardous Devices Unit has been called to the area to ensure the safety of the scene. Police used a robot to approach and clear the vehicle. After about one hour, the vehicle was cleared and police resumed investigating the shooting.

Residents are urged to avoid the area. The incident briefly locked down nearby Norman North High School.
