UPDATE: According to Tulsa police, Norman councilmember Alexandra Scott tied herself to a flag pole that flew the American Flag when she was arrested.
Police say that Scott's feet were off the ground and she was supported to the pole with a nylon strap.
As officers got closer to Scott, she refused to get down from the flag pole and other people tried to prevent the officers from reaching her.
When officers did reach her, her feet were shoulder high and police cut the nylon strap to get her to come down.
Scott was tied to the pole with climbing equipment.
