MWC Police asking residents to register surveillance cameras

Midwest City police are asking for the public's help in solving crimes.

Police are asking residents to register their home surveillance cameras with the department in an effort to better identify suspects when crimes occur.

The program is completely voluntary, but department officials say it could help officers save time when a crime occurs in a neighborhood.

"Crime in neighborhoods is a community problem, and we are asking you to work with us to be a part of the solution," Midwest City PD says in a release.

Those who want to register cameras can fill out a form on the city's website. Just enter your name and address. The police department will then call you to verify the information.
