Two homes are destroyed after a very large fire in the northwest metro.

Oklahoma City fire crews responded to the home in the 1100 block of N. Ellison around 11 p.m. Monday night. Arriving teams say the home was fully engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters two hours to get the blaze under control.

The fire reportedly spread to the house next door, and may have melted parts of a car parked across the street.

Officials say no one was living in the home that initially caught fire. It was unclear if the house next door would have to be torn down.

Investigators are looking into the cause of that blaze.
