A man has been arrested on a first degree murder complaint in connection to the death of a Norman woman.

The Norman Police Department reports that 40-year-old Jeremy Scott Bettes was arrested on a warrant Jan. 9. The arrest comes following the death of 61-year-old Sharon Judd.

On December 24, Judd was discovered dead inside a home in the 700 block of Highland Parkway. Officers were originally called to the home for an overdose. After an investigation, they determined Judd's death to be suspicious after injuries to her body were found.

Bettes told authorities that he and Judd were the only two people at the residence. They later learned that he did not immediately notify police of her death.

He has been booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
