SPERRY, Okla. (KTUL) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist is dead after an early morning crash Sunday.
OHP says just before 5 a.m. a driver who was was traveling on 106th Street North didn’t stop heading westbound on Highway 75 and went onto the roadway, where they struck a motorcycle and another vehicle.
Troopers say the person on the motorcycle was killed. They have identified him as 54-year-old Timothy Hayhurst, of Skiatook.
The driver in the other vehicle that was hit was treated for minor injuries.
OHP said the driver that caused the crashed drove away from the scene. They later found him around 8 a.m. Sunday and arrested him.
He has been identified as 27-year-old Rogers Stevens of Sperry.
Stevens has been booked into the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of first-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
