Insight Creative Group kicks off Curbside Coat Drive in OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
As temperatures begin to drop in Oklahoma, winter coats become more and more important. For the second year in a row, a metro business is collecting coats for those in need.
The Insight Creative Group Curbside Coat Drive is officially underway in Oklahoma City. All coats donated will go to help the vendors of The Curbside Chronicle.
If you've spent anytime driving around Oklahoma City, you've probably seen a Curbside Chronicle vendor in their green vests. The company works with individuals trying to work their way out of homelessness.
During ICG's inaugural coat drive, they hoped to collect 218 coats, but received over 500.
The group says the greatest need is for men's sizes L-4XL, but they welcome all coat donations. The coats can be brought to ICG at 19 NE 9 Street in Automobile Alley. They are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Coats can also be left on the rack outside the business.
ICG is partnering with Kendra Scott to collect coats this year. If you bring a coat into Kendra Scott to donate, you will receive 15 percent off your purchase through Nov. 20.
