Inmate injured in stabbing at the Oklahoma County Jail

The Oklahoma County Jail was placed on lockdown Thursday following an altercation that injured an inmate.

Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mark Opgrande reports that at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 16 an altercation occurred in a pod at the jail. During the fight, an inmate was stabbed.

The inmate's injury is considered non-life threatening. The jail was placed on lockdown following the incident.

The fight is currently under investigation.
