OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — 24-year-old Corey Boughton told officers at the Village Police Department he felt sick Thursday evening complaining about an ongoing medical condition according to police.
Fire and EMSA were called to the department to check on Boughton and took him to Mercy Hospital, according to officers Boughton only wanted to Mercy Hospital because his aunt worked there.
According to a police report, EMSA took Boughton to Mercy Hospital and waited with him for a room to open up.
While waiting Boughton told EMSA paramedics he needed to use the restroom, EMSA told officers, once Boughton came out of the restroom he began running out of the emergency exit doors.
Boughton was wearing an orange county jump suit that read Oklahoma County and ran through the parking lot, jumped a small iron fence, and continued running south across a golf course and into a neighborhood police say.
Air 1 and K9 officers joined the search for Boughton, assisting officers say Boughton surrendered and was taken into custody.
Officers say Boughton was initially in the Oklahoma County Jail for a no bond warrant.
