Police: Pedestrian jumps from bridge onto metro interstate
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
A portion of an interstate was narrowed in Oklahoma City after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle during an apparent suicide attempt.
The Oklahoma City Police Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol have narrowed southbound Interstate 44 between NW 39 and NW 12 after a pedestrian jumped from a bridge onto the roadway. The woman was struck by multiple vehicles after landing on the roadway. She was transported to a metro hospital in critical condition.
The off-ramp to I-44 at NW 23 Street was shut down for several hours while the incident was investigated.
The woman later died.
