A pre-inaugural ball was held at the Cox Business Center, and it was packed.

Everyone who came had at least one thing in common -- their support for Stitt.

“Kevin is a man of God; he is a man of faith. He is a conservative, and that’s what we need,” Peg Wilson said.

Wilson was a fan from the first time she met Stitt.

She says his business background is exactly what Oklahoma needs right now.

“For so long, the longtime politicians have seen things the way they are and Kevin’s ideas are new and fresh,” she said.

Stitt’s focus has been on turning Oklahoma around.

Shreve says it was Stitt’s non-political business background and family-oriented campaign that sold him.

“He has a connection to regular people like me,” Shreve said. “He wants to know what is going on. I have access to him, and he wants to hear what regular folks in Oklahoma have to say.”

Stitt started his Tulsa trip with families at the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, and 300 of those visitors were foster families.

Foster care is a program Stitt says he is determined to help.

Stitt says he has a list of plans he wants to accomplish, and even at his party, he was making plans for his first day in office.

“We don’t have any accountability in state government right now, and I am going to change that. We are going to focus on education; we are going to focus on digital transformation and criminal justice in my first year,” he said.

Stitt will be sworn in Monday morning as Oklahoma’s 28th governor.

“Thank you so much for putting your trust in me, and on Monday, I am going to do whatever I can to make sure I put you first,” he said.
