The inaugural festivities for Gov. Kevin Stitt continued on Tuesday.

Gov. Stitt took on his first duties by attending and speaking at a prayer service in Moore.

It wasn't, however, a typical church service.

It was a service dedicated to Gov. Stitt's inauguration.

"Kevin and Sarah (Stitt) sat with my wife Jenn and I, and expressed that the Lord had laid it on their heart to be obedient and to step into leadership role that they didn't need to. And they did. And today we give God the glory," said Rev. Jamie Austin.

At least 500 people filled First Baptist Church of Moore Tuesday morning for the prayer service for Gov. Stitt and his family with a message of unification.

"I just love the messages the pastors brought; message of unity and being bridge," Gov. Stitt said. "And then also the pace. The pace of Oklahoma is changing. We're so excited to start our first day in office."

One of the main items he'll tackle is the growing prison population.

"We're going to be laying out our State of the State address," Gov. Stitt said. "I'm working behind the scenes with the House leadership, the Senate Leadership to really move the needle in incarceration."

He'll also put focus on education in Oklahoma.

"We're going to value that education profession," Gov. Stitt said. "We've got more to do there, so budget plan that I'll be rolling out is to move them up even further."
