A former Cushing Public Schools teacher is accused of attempting to get a 13-year-old girl to send him nude photos.

The Stillwater Police Department reports that the Cushing Police Department was contacted Oct. 8 by the parents of a 13-year-old student. The parents stated that their daughter had been contacted by 24-year-old Cushing teacher Seth Swaim through Snapchat.

During the conversation, Swaim had allegedly asked the girl to send him sexually explicit photos and then attempted to meet up with the girl at a local park. He later reportedly asked the girl to go with him to his residence.

Cushing police then requested assistance from Stillwater police and an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force member. Authorities took over the girl's Snapchat account and began communicating with Swaim.

During the conversation, the undercover authorities posing as the girl arranged a meeting with Swaim at a local park where they would then go to his home.

Swaim arrived at the park and was taken into custody by officers. He faces one count of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor by use of technology. On their Facebook page, Cushing Public Schools confirmed that Swaim was terminated after they discovered he had been arrested. Swaim has pleaded not guilty to the charge. He has been ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and to have no "electronic communication device" in his possession. He's due in court on Nov. 5.
