First streetcar makes its debut in Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Oklahoma City's first modern streetcar made its debut Tuesday.
The first of seven streetcars was delivered to the streetcar storage and maintenance facility Tuesday. The $131 million project, approved by voters in the MAPS 3 package, is underway and expected to be complete by the end of the year.
The project has two different loops. The Bricktown loop will run east to west and will connect Bricktown to Downtown and Scissortail Park. The main line route will run primarily north to south and connect Bricktown and Downtown to Automobile Alley and Midtown.
